Alexandra Hollo, Ph.D., BCBA-D
As a researcher, Dr. Alexandra Hollo's goal is to develop an evidence base for best practices in supporting students with comorbid language, learning, and behavioral disorders. This line of research stems directly from her time teaching in residential treatment centers for students with high incidence disabilities, when she noticed that students tended to act out rather than speak out. She began conducting research on language and behavior in the classroom during her doctoral training at Vanderbilt University, where she also became a board certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Hollo is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Special Education at the West Virginia University College of Education and Human Services, where she continues to develop this line of inquiry in addition to preparing teachers, researchers, and behavioral analysts to enter or advance in their respective professions.
