Dr. Michael Mayton obtained his undergraduate degree in English Education, his master's degree in Special Education, and his PhD in Exceptional Education from Tennessee Technological University. In 2015, he joined West Virginia University as an associate professor in the Department of Special Education at the College of Education and Human Services; and, in 2016, he accepted the position of co-coordinator at the American Council for Rural Special Education Headquarters at WVU. His research interests include applied behavior analysis, autism spectrum disorders, and intellectual disabilities.
