Applied Behavior Analysis
The Master's Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis and the Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis are designed to prepare professionals to plan, implement and evaluate interventions using applied behavior analytic techniques. To apply these courses to meet eligibility for the BCBA® credential, individuals must already hold a Master’s degree or complete the certificate program in conjunction with a Master’s degree in an acceptable field of study: behavior analysis, education or psychology; applicants who are unsure whether the field of study of their degree is acceptable should request a preliminary review by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB®) prior to applying to the program.
This program is available entirely online nationwide and in approved international areas.
The WVU Applied Behavior Analysis Program offers two options:
- Masters Degree in Special Education with emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis THIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO ADMISSIONS
- Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis THIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO ADMISSIONS
NOTE: Only individuals who document that they have already earned a Master’s degree or are currently enrolled at WVU in an approved area may be admitted to the graduate certificate program option.
STUDENTS ENROLLED ONLY IN THE ABA CERTIFICATE AND NOT ALSO IN A CONCURRENT GRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAM AT WVU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCIAL AID.

WVU is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the ABA course
sequence is approved as a Verified Course Sequence by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB®) as
the course component required for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) credential.
